The large restoration workshop continues the tradition of the Margheri family of Piazzano.
We take care of furniture and restore it to its former glory while respecting its original features: the wood, natural patinas and detailing.
We use beeswax for polishing, spirits for shining, and always restore with materials appropriate to the historic period employing traditional processes. On request we also reassemble bookshelves using antique doors and shelving. Over the years we have dedicated particular attention to painted furniture: furniture made of lesser woods like fir and poplar that were painted with tempera and oil paints. We are also able to use these techniques to decorate recuperated furniture at the request of our customers. A large-scale project of which we are proud is the restoration of the Santo Spirito Pharmacy in Florence. This work took several months and required uncovering the original color of the furniture, recreating the missing areas and then executing a major intervention which included lacquer, faux marble and gold trim finishing.
